  1. Spring Fling Open Studio 2022

    Posted on

I'm so excited to be opening my brand new studio space this year for the 2022 Spring Fling Open Studio Event from the 2nd to the 5th June. I'll have lots of new paintings, cards, prints, textiles and more.

Spring Fling is a fabulous visual art and craft open studios event covering the length and breadth of Dumfries and Galloway in South West Scotland. It is highly regarded as one of the UK’s most successful contemporary visual art and craft open studio events.

I have created a new big painting called Under a Purple Sky with my favourite Belted Galloway cows.

I can hardly believe it's time for my annual Open Studio again but here we are!  I'll be in Kirkbean Village Hall close to my village of Carsethorn, here in Dumfries and Galloway from the 26th to the 28th May from 10.30am - 5.30pm each day.

On the Saturday I'll be open until 8pm and your welcome to come along and have a glass of wine and some cheese in the evening. I'm delighted this year to have lots of new paintings and prints on a coastal village theme as well as lots of animal paintings too.

Oh and I'll have plenty of beautiful new clocks, bags, placemats and coasters and keyrings! All made in the UK.

I hope to see lots of you there it's always such a pleasure for Jack and I to meet so many of you. The village hall committee will be serving soup, sandwiches and plenty of tea and cake to keep you all going through the day. My open studio is part of Spring Fling Open Studio routes and you can find out more about all the other studios and see the brochure here.

  3. This is me...and Jack too! Come and meet us!

It was recently pointed out to me that not many people know what I look like! This may not be a bad thing, I think, but apparently people like to see faces and know who they are talking to and I think I understand this. Either way shortly after this conversation I was offered the chance to have some photos taken courtesy of the wonderful Spring Fling PR team which consists of Matthew Shelly and Colin Hattersley. So despite being a bit camera shy I managed to look quite like...well...me...and here they are.

In the studio with Jack...there may be a biscuit being dangled just out of sight!

Oh dear the biscuit has disappeared and now Jack looks slightly worried!

In the garden...Jack is starting to get used to the idea now...no biscuit involved!

Jack is having a break at this point!

Jack is fed up at this point and obviously not too keen on this painting hence the tongue sticking out!

Of course if you would like the chance to meet the real me in the flesh I'll be taking part in the Spring Fling open studio event next weekend 27th to the 29th May at Kirkbean village hall...hope to see lots of you there!
